Search Engine Optimisation or SEO is probably the single most important method for marketing your website and your products and services on the Internet. The benefits of SEO however are largely indirect, which we recognise can make it difficult to understand.
SEO is concerned with getting your site found on the search engines such as Google, and having your site's listing appear at or near the top of a search engine’s results (SERPs). Given that somewhere between 80-95% of all searches on the internet are via search engines like Google, this cannot be ignored in any marketing of your website.
To get a site ranked highly on Google, requires a lot of work, and to keep it there, ongoing work and vigilance, because the search engines change what they do almost every day, and you can bet your competitors won’t be standing still either. So to keep up, SEO is an ongoing process, not a quick one-off fix.
To optimise your site so it does achieve high rankings requires on-site and off-site work.
On-site optimisation means getting the content on your site to be as relevant as possible to the search phrases people will actually use to find your products and services, or to express and meet your prospective client’s needs. Believe it or not, this can be tricky, and often requires a number of perhaps unexpected compromises. Freetimers not only will optimise your content, but we will often enhance it so Google sees your site as relevant the way it wants to see it, not necessarily how you want to see it. We use a large number of techniques and methods including Basic SEO for title and meta tags and advanced optimisation for content manipulation, creation and enhancement.
The other half of Search Engine Optimisation is off-site optimisation, and this is at least as important as on-site optimisation, and in some markets, it may be more important than on-site work. Google and the other major search engines consider a number of off-site factors when trying to decide how high they want to rank you on their search results page. Most of these are about trying to measure the popularity of your site (see link popularity building) or about measuring your influence over the internet as a whole (social media marketing, blogs and current referring content).
Freetimers has been “doing SEO” since 1997, so we have accumulated a huge amount of experience and expertise that most other digital agencies or web designers will not have.
We are very confident of our ability to produce SEO success for you, whatever your market, and however competitive it might be. We know we can do it because we get the results to prove it (see latest Google ranking results).
If you are serious about getting your site ranked well on Google, you should contact Freetimers today on 01604 628429.
